- FALSE! They're like any other jaws. If you were to look at an x-ray (while in complete dark about the breed) you wouldn't be able to pinpoint the Pitbull. You'd simply see two identical x-ray's.
Pitbulls are good with children- TRUE! Pitbulls were often referred to as 'Nanny dogs' because many people trusted these dogs enough to let the children and the dog sit in their front yard, alone together. This was because not only did they trust the pitbull alone with their child, they trusted them to guard their child. (Disclaimer: please do not leave animals and children alone -)
Certain 'types' of pitbulls are more aggressive - FALSE! (ie: red nose pitbulls) this is simply ridiculous. They have the same genetic make up just simply different coat colors. It's a simple stereotype.
Pitbulls cannot live with other animals.- FALSE FALSE FALSE! I am first hand witness of this. I have a cat, a small dog and two ferrets and along with my pitbull, they all live together peacefully (Even if Sahara - my pittie - is a nuisance). She loves to play and she knows when to stop being a pain in the butt.
I'm sure some of you pitbull owners tend to laugh at the myths that actually need busted - I know I do. We're here to raise awareness and we're here to help people understand a VERY misunderstood breed. Let's keep it up.
